Smart Tips to Cite Your Assignment

Heavy reliance on Chicago citation maker can make it impossible for students to excel in citing the paper. They can easily get a grip over this referencing style if they understand it properly and practice it regularly.
Many universities ask the students to draft papers according to Oxford referencing. As per the Chicago style, there are two types of citations: ‘Footnote or Endnote’, and, ‘Bibliography’.
How Chicago citation makers create the footnotes?
As per the Chicago style, footnotes are used to cite the information provided in a text. In order to cite, a superscript number is written following a paraphrase or quote.  This number is then linked with a footnote. Footnotes should come at the end of the page where the reference is used.
An example would be: Zarella assures, “But it’s not all doom and gloom”.1
The footnotes need to be number which will be linked back to certain information used in the text.
To create the footnote, a particular format needs to be maintained:
The first name, last name, the document’s title italicized, place of publication, publisher’s name, publication year, page number
Example: Dan Zarella, The social media marketing book, (USA, O'Reilly Media, Inc.", 2009), 1.
If the same reference is being used for more than one time, only the last name of the author, short version of the title, and the page numbers from where the reference is being made should be used.
Example: Zarella, The social, 88-91.

How to write a bibliography in Chicago style?
After the full text is completed, the bibliography must be written in a new page. This page should be labeled as ‘Bibliography’. All the sources used or cited in the document should be included in the bibliography. There can be some other relevant sources that might not have been cited in the text but can help the readers with further reading.
To write a bibliographical entry, one needs to use the general format given below:
Last name, first name. Book title in italics. Publication place, publisher, publication year.
An example would be as follows:
Zarrella, Dan. The social media marketing book. USA," O'Reilly Media, Inc.", 2009.
When there is more than one author, it is not necessary that they appear in alphabetical order. The list can be created listing the authors as they appear.
Example: Lash, Scott, and John Urry. Economies of Signs & Space. London: Sage Publications, 1994.
When the book is edited by someone else and the author’s name comes along with the editor’s name, the name of the editor will be preceded by “edited by” in the citation.
An example of this would be:
Tylor, Edward B. Researches into the Early Development of Mankind and the Development of Civilization. Edited by Paul Bohannan. Chicago: University of Chicago Press, 1964.
In case of an e-book, the format of the book should be provided at the citation’s end.
Example: Austen, Jane. Pride and Prejudice. New York: Penguin Classics, 2007. Kindle edition.
The accessed date and the URL of the electronic book can be mentioned:
Example: Zarrella, Dan. The social media marketing book. " USA, O'Reilly Media, Inc.", 2009.
For other types of web sources like articles, blogs, websites, the Chicago citation will go just like the online or e-books. A URL follows the general citation:

Example: Peltonen, Kirsi, Noora Ellonen, Helmer B. Larsen, and Karin Helweg-Larsen. “Parental Violence and Adolescent Mental Health.” European Child & Adolescent Psychiatry 19, no. 11 (2010): 813-822. doi: 10.1007/s00787-010-0130-8.
